Goldberg Unveils ‘Back To Bar’ Campaign, Offers Fans UK And Lisbon Trips To Watch Super Eagles

Goldberg Lager Beer has launched a new consumer campaign titled Back to Bar, giving football fans the opportunity to win all-expense-paid trips to watch the Super Eagles live in the United Kingdom or Lisbon.

The campaign was officially introduced during a press briefing at the Lagos Brewery Bar on April 17, drawing media representatives, football enthusiasts, and notable figures in Nigerian football. Former internationals including Friday Elahor, Victor Agali, Ifeanyi Udeze, Jonathan Akpobore, Precious Dede, and Ebi Onome were present, highlighting the brand’s long-standing ties to football culture.

At the heart of the campaign is a simple participation model. Consumers who buy two bottles of Goldberg at selected bars receive instant airtime rewards and are automatically entered into weekly raffle draws. Over the course of the promotion, ten winners will be selected for sponsored trips abroad to watch the national team live.

Speaking at the launch, Senior Brand Manager at Nigerian Breweries Plc, Kunle Aroyehun, explained that the initiative was designed to reflect current consumer behaviour.

“We understand what it means to go to a bar right now. People are more intentional with how they spend, but they still want to enjoy football and the moments that come with it. Back to Bar is our way of meeting that reality,” he said, noting that the campaign offers both instant rewards and the chance for a bigger football experience.

Also speaking, Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing Communications at Nigerian Breweries, emphasized the cultural relevance of the campaign.

“Football in Nigeria is not something people experience occasionally; it is part of everyday life. For many fans, that experience is shaped in bars. What we are doing is recognising that space for what it truly is,” she said.

The Back to Bar campaign is now active in participating bars across the country, with weekly draws and real-time winner announcements aimed at keeping the process transparent and engaging for consumers.
