I’m ‘Down’ to Record the Next Bond Theme Song, Says Lashana Lynch

Renowned actress Lashana Lynch, celebrated for her role as Nomi in the 2021 Bond film ‘No Time to Die,’ has expressed her eagerness to record the next James Bond theme song. Lynch, who portrayed a new 007 agent, shared her enthusiasm during an interview with On Demand Entertainment.

In response to the prospect of recording the Bond theme, Lynch exclaimed, “Oh my gosh – could you let them know! I can write a tune or two and do that. Yeah, yeah, sure. I’d be down. I’d be down. That’s a great … great idea. Now I’m like, ‘OK, now I must write that down to make sure [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli knows.”

Lashana Lynch, recently featured in ‘Bob Marley: One Love,’ a biographical musical drama film, showcased her versatility as an actress. Her openness to contributing to the iconic Bond theme adds another dimension to her artistic repertoire.

‘No Time to Die’ marked the farewell of Daniel Craig as 007, leading to speculations about the next actor to take on the iconic role. Lynch, in a 2021 interview with the Guardian, emphasized the evolving nature of the film industry, stating, “We are in a place in time where the industry is not just giving audiences what it thinks the audience wants. They’re actually giving the audience what they want to give the audience.”

Lynch also conveyed her belief that the Bond franchise has the capacity to evolve with diverse casting choices, affirming, “With Bond, it could be a man or woman. They could be white, black, Asian, mixed race. They could be young or old.” Her inclusive perspective on the future of the Bond character reflects the changing dynamics within the film industry.

Lashana Lynch’s interest in contributing to the Bond legacy through a theme song adds an exciting layer to her association with the iconic spy franchise.
