Jamie Chung Opens up About Using a Surrogate to Avoid Slowing Down Her Career
American actress and former reality TV personality, Jamie Chung has opened up on the level of success she has enjoyed in her career but has added that the success she has enjoyed has come at the price of not being able to bear her own children naturally.
She explains that her commitment to her career meant that she culd not enjoy the luxury of taking time off from her engagements to have children naturally.
To this effect, she and her husband, Bryan Greenberg, reached an agreement to use a surrogate, which was how they welcomed their twin boys.
“I was terrified of putting my life on hold for two-plus years,” she said. “In my industry, it feels like you’re easily forgotten if you don’t work within the next month of your last job. Things are so quickly paced in what we do.”
Jamie mentioned that surrogacy was somewhat frowned upon, however it was a decision that they took as a family
“I think there’s a little bit of shame,” she mentioned “It’s still not a very common thing and we weren’t ready for judgment,” she said
