Kanye West Warns Fans Against Buying ‘Fake Yeezys’ Amid Dispute with Adidas: ‘Non-Approved 350s Are Corny’
Kanye West took to social media on Monday to address his ongoing dispute with adidas, warning fans against purchasing unauthorized Yeezy-inspired products from the sportswear giant.
In an Instagram video, the Chicago native expressed frustration over adidas allegedly releasing unauthorized colorways and failing to compensate him for his designs. West claimed that adidas is suing him for $250 million while exploiting his name and creations without proper payment.
“They’re using contract clauses and 50 years of business experience to rape an artist — one of ya’ll favourite artist — right in front of ya’ll, in broad daylight,” West stated in the video.
Supportive comments poured in, with rapper Snoop Dogg chiming in to encourage West to “speak [his] truth.”
In a subsequent post, West shared a screenshot of a Yeezy shoe listing on adidas’ Instagram page, urging fans to avoid purchasing non-approved colorways. He emphasized that these designs were not created by him and lamented adidas’ alleged mistreatment of him.
Contrary to earlier claims, West disclosed that adidas is suing him for more than he’s worth. He cited a recent incident where an Atlanta-based sneaker company pointed out sizing discrepancies in a Yeezy product as evidence of ongoing issues in his fashion ventures.
West alleged that adidas copied his designs and mistreated him, claiming they’re selling his shoes without proper compensation and accusing him of misusing marketing funds.
