Kano Government Revokes Actress Samha Inuwa’s License Over Alleged Indecent Conduct

The Kano State government has revoked the license of Kannywood actress Samha M. Inuwa, citing alleged indecent dressing and the sharing of inappropriate content.

The state’s Censorship Board also announced that any film featuring the actress would be censored, effectively barring her from appearing on-screen for the next 12 months.

In a statement released on Saturday, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, the Information Officer for the Censorship Board, disclosed that the decision followed multiple warnings to the actress over her “crude dressing and vulgar displays.” Despite these warnings, Sulaiman noted, Inuwa allegedly continued to violate the Board’s regulations.

“The action taken by the Board is in response to numerous complaints from Kano residents regarding her conduct,” the statement said.

The Kano State Censorship Board, known for its strict enforcement of moral and cultural standards in the entertainment industry, emphasized its commitment to preserving societal values.

The decision has sparked reactions within the Kannywood community and beyond, as debates over artistic freedom and cultural norms continue to unfold in Nigeria’s film industry.
