Kanye West Declares Himself “GOAT of All GOATs” Amid Yeezy Sales Milestone
Kanye West recently declared himself “the GOAT of all GOATs” while highlighting the massive earnings from his latest Yeezy release. In a now-deleted Instagram post on January 13, the rapper and designer revealed that the new Yeezy collection raked in over $2 million in sales within 24 hours. A screenshot shared alongside the post showcased a revenue figure of $2,339,096.
West’s post boasted of his independent approach to creativity, stating, “I don’t collab. No paid ads. I am the Yon. Yeezy over everything.” He went on to dismiss other designers outside the Yeezy brand, adding, “If you design and don’t work at Yeezy close your dirty ass laptop and go to bed.”
In characteristic fashion, West proclaimed himself the greatest in numerous domains, including music, design, and wealth. “THE GOAT OF ALL GOATS OF ANY GOAT THAT WAS EVER GOATED. YOUR FAVORITE GOATS FAVORITE GOAT. YOUR DADS DAD TELL YA MOM YOU GOT A NEW DAD,” he wrote. He further referenced his infamous 2005 Grammy speech, asserting, “EVERYBODY WANTED TO KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YE NEVER GOT MONEY AGAIN. I GUESS WE’LL NEVER [KNOW].”
The latest Yeezy collection features items priced uniformly at $20, including hoodies, socks, T-shirts, joggers, shorts, and a minimalistic new shoe called the YZY SLPR. The accessible pricing aligns with West’s recent focus on broadening Yeezy’s reach.
West also reignited tensions with adidas, the sportswear giant that severed ties with him in 2022 following his controversial antisemitic remarks. He criticized the company for its alleged attempts to undermine Yeezy’s success, accusing adidas of design theft and oppressive practices. “When you google Yeezy.com, the adidas site comes before the Yeezy site. Members at adidas, stop doing this,” West wrote. He added, “Our partnership is done. You’re a $60 billion company that froze my accounts. Now I’m back on my feet, and I’m not going to stand for this.”
West also took aim at individuals he accused of leveraging their association with him to promote their own brands, specifically naming designer Jerry Lorenzo. “It’s Yeezy over everything. Everyone that ever took a picture next to me… acting like they were my friends to promote their weak ass fake Yeezy lines,” he said.
The statements have reignited debates about West’s polarizing persona and his impact on the fashion and entertainment industries. Despite past controversies, the enduring popularity of his Yeezy brand demonstrates West’s continued influence.
