Kate Moss Set to Testify in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s Trial on Wednesday
British model and business woman, Kate Moss is expected to testify in the ongoing defamation trial between celebrity Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
According to the New York Post, the 48-year-old fashion icon who dated Johnny Depp between 1994 and 1997 is set to testify via a video link on 25th May 2022 in the Fairfax Virginia courtroom.
It should be recalled that Depp has earlier filed legal action against Heard to a tune of $50 million. In the suit against Heard, the actor had claimed that an op-ed penned by Heard and published in the Washington Post in 2018 had torn his reputation to shreds after labelling him an abuser.
This was merely the beginning as Heard turned the table around and countersued her ex-husband to a tune of $100 million where she claimed that Depp’s counsel had made defamatory statements about her claims of being abused and even going as far as branding it a ‘hoax.’
While on the stand, Heard alleged that during a physical confrontation with Depp where she and her sister were present, the rumours about how her ex-husband allegedly pushed Moss down a flight of staircase came to her mind.
Ironically, Depp’s lawyers appeared excited and were seen fist-pumping the moment the 36-year-old actress brought up Kate Moss in her testimony.
Legal experts have explained that bringing Moss into the trail could give Depp’s legal team a golden opportunity to set the records straight over the rumour that the actor once allegedly pushed Moss down a flight of stairs
On Friday, the legal representatives of both Depp and Heard are expected to make closing comments in the high-profile suit.
