Krayzie Bone Reportedly ‘Fighting for His Life’ in Hospital

Krayzie Bone, a member of the legendary Hip-Hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, is currently in critical condition following his hospitalization for a severe cardiovascular condition. According to reports from AllHipHop, the Cleveland rap icon was admitted to a Los Angeles, California hospital on September 22 after experiencing severe blood coughing.

After undergoing a CAT scan, medical professionals identified a leaking artery within one of his lungs. Despite undergoing immediate surgery, the bleeding persisted, leading to a critical situation. Krayzie Bone, whose real name is Anthony Henderson, is now sedated and connected to a breathing machine.

The rapper is known to suffer from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease characterized by an exaggerated immune system response, resulting in the formation of clusters of inflamed tissue called “granulomas” in one or more organs. Sarcoidosis most frequently affects the lungs and lymph nodes, and it can become life-threatening if it progresses to severe lung or heart disease, as indicated by the American Lung Association.

TMZ reported that Krayzie Bone was scheduled for a second surgery on September 25 in an attempt to stop the internal bleeding. Only family members have been permitted to visit him, and his medical team is working diligently to obtain updates on his condition.

News of his hospitalization prompted an outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from the hip-hop community. Fellow Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member Bizzy Bone shared on Instagram Stories, “Pray 4 Kray. Can’t sleep. Sometimes you just gotta pray.” Cleveland native Kid Cudi tweeted his support, saying, “Prayin for you Kray [prayer hands emoji] [heart emoji].” Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J and DJ Paul also extended their prayers via social media, and NBA superstar LeBron James expressed his thoughts, tweeting: “[prayers] to Krayzie man!!!!”

Krayzie Bone’s health crisis follows a recent career milestone for himself and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who were honoured with a street named after them in their hometown of Cleveland last month. On August 11, in celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary, East 99th Street, the namesake of the group’s 1995 album, was officially designated “Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Way.”
