LG Unveils 2024 OLED and QNED TVs with Enhanced AI Performance

LG Electronics Inc. has revealed its plans to launch the highly anticipated 2024 LG OLED TV and QNED (Quantum nano-emitting diode) TV models equipped with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in the South Korean market on Mar. 13.

In a bid to offer consumers a broader range of options, LG is adopting a dual-track strategy this year, focusing on both OLED TV and QNED TV technologies.

The centrepiece of the 2024 LG OLED Evo series is the Alpha 11 processor, which delivers a remarkable fourfold increase in AI deep-learning performance compared to its predecessor, the Alpha 9 processor.

A groundbreaking feature of the Alpha 11 processor is its ability to adjust picture quality at a pixel-by-pixel level, optimizing visual fidelity for online streaming services like Netflix.

Furthermore, significant improvements have been made to the audio experience, with additional channels dedicated to ambient sounds and enhanced voice clarity even in noisy backgrounds.

For gaming enthusiasts, LG’s OLED Evo lineup has received Nvidia G-Sync certification, offering support for a variable refresh rate of 144 Hz, ensuring smoother gameplay.

LG’s wireless OLED TV lineup, which minimizes external cables, will introduce a new 65-inch model alongside existing sizes ranging from 97 to 77 inches, set to hit the market domestically in June.

Additionally, LG is set to launch the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV, the LG Signature OLED T, later this year, following its debut at CES 2024.

Among the QNED TV series, the LG QNED Evo stands out with its mini LED technology and Alpha 8 processor, delivering 1.3 times more potent AI performance compared to its predecessor.

The QNED Evo also offers immersive spatial sound through a 9.1.2 channel setup, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

To cater to customers’ preferences for larger displays, LG Electronics plans to introduce a 98-inch QNED TV, completing the QNED TV lineup that spans from small to medium-sized to extra-large models, starting from 40 inches and above.
