Made Kuti’s Wife Indeoye Shares Heartwarming Story of Their School Days and Romance
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Made Kuti, and his wife, Indeoye Onyenso, recently delved into the nostalgic tale of their high school beginnings and subsequent romance during an interview with Bella Naija at their wedding.
Recollecting their school days, the glowing bride reminisced about how they initially met during their time in secondary school. She described Made as her “school father” back then, emphasizing that they shared a friendly and amiable relationship during their school years. However, after graduation, they drifted apart until seven years later when Made returned to Nigeria following his university graduation in London.
Sharing their story, Indeoye revealed, “We met in high school. Funny story. He was my school father. He was a very good school father. We didn’t talk again after high school until much later, while I was in university. After he graduated, we became Facebook friends first. Then, from Facebook friends, he came back to Nigeria in 2018. That’s when we began dating, and here we are.”
Made echoed his wife’s sentiments, corroborating their shared history and the effortless rekindling of their friendship after a prolonged period apart. He added, “About seven years later, in 2018, like she said, I came back from Uni and had just graduated, and it picked up from there. We had history and a bright future, apparently,” he added with an exuberant smile.
Their romantic journey began in 2020, and their relationship blossomed over three years before they sealed their commitment by tying the knot. The couple’s wedding, a heartwarming celebration of their third anniversary, took place on November 1, 2023, in a private yet joyous event held in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The intimate ceremony was graced by the presence of their family members, close friends, and a select group of invitees. Although a private affair at the venue, the couple ensured that their special day was shared with well-wishers by live streaming the event on Instagram, allowing others to partake in their joyous union.
