May D Warns Fans Against Comparing Him to Wizkid
Nigerian singer May D has issued a stern warning to fans, urging them to stop comparing him to other artists, particularly Wizkid.
The Soundtrack hitmaker took to X (formerly Twitter) to make his stance clear, emphasizing that he is a unique talent.
“Don’t ever compare me to anyone in this industry again!! Especially Wiz!! I’m a different breed! God’s baby,” he wrote.
May D has previously claimed that he was on the same level as Wizkid and Davido before his fallout with Square Records, the label owned by P-Square, which he signed with in 2011.
In 2012, the label announced his departure, a move that May D believes impacted his career trajectory. He once stated that if not for the split, Wizkid would not have been ahead of him in the industry.
