Meet the Famous Hollywood Actor Michael Jordan Refused to Play His Role in a Biopic
Would you be able to guess the name of the famous Hollywood actor who asked American basketball legend, Michael Jordan if he could play his role in a biopic but got turned down.
Well, we’ll save you the trouble of making too many guesses by telling you precisely who it is – it’s none other than English actor and producer, Idris Elba.
The actor recently made the revelation during a one of the most recent episodes of ‘Sneaker Shopping’ for Complex and he even went on to confess how it all happened.
“I even said to him one time, ‘I want to play you,'” Elba said to host Joe La Puma. “He was like, ‘Hm, I’m not ready yet.’ That’s what he said, ‘I’m not ready yet.’ … I was dead serious.
“In my head, playing Jordan wouldn’t be about playing the basketball player; it was about the businessman. He is a very astute businessman, really smart. And his work as a philanthropist is unspoken, but people don’t understand the work. He cares; he does a lot of work. So that’s where I was hinting at. I wanna play Jordan – I’m doing that. He was like, ‘Ah, I’m not ready for that story yet.'”
