Megan Thee Stallion Gets Gayle King Response After Confessing To Tory Lanez Lie

Gayle King has responded with understanding to Megan Thee Stallion’s recent admission that she was not fully honest during their 2022 interview about her relationship with rapper Tory Lanez. The revelation, shared in Megan’s new Amazon Prime Video documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, has stirred interest as the rapper openly admitted to lying about her sexual relationship with Lanez.

Speaking to TMZ, King addressed Megan’s confession, expressing empathy and support. “It was the first time she was sharing her story, and I felt for her, especially seeing so many doubting her account,” King said. “I wanted to hear her side directly. Why she chose to say what she did is up to her, and I respect that. I’m still very fond of her. She’s been through a lot, and I’m looking forward to seeing her documentary.”

In Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, Megan explained her response to King, admitting she had felt blindsided by the question about her relationship with Lanez, which she had not anticipated during the interview. “Yes, I lied to Gayle King,” Megan confessed in the documentary. “I didn’t know she was going to ask me that. I thought we’d be talking about the shooting.”

During their April 2022 interview on CBS Mornings, Megan emotionally recounted the events surrounding the July 2020 incident in which she was shot, later leading to Lanez’s conviction and 10-year prison sentence. When asked about her relationship with Lanez, she had denied any romantic involvement, stating, “We were really close friends, and we hung out almost daily. His mum passed too, so we were bonding over that.”

However, during Lanez’s trial in December 2022, Megan testified that she and Lanez had, in fact, been involved in a non-exclusive relationship. Megan clarified to jurors that her initial reluctance to disclose the relationship was due to embarrassment, noting that the focus had shifted away from the shooting and onto her personal life. “People call me a liar every day or shame me for being a grown woman. The story became more about who Tory was having sex with than about the shooting,” she said in court.

Despite the revelation, King emphasized her continued support for Megan, stating, “I have no controversy to stir up. I’m cheering her on.”
