Mohbad: Naira Marley Accuses Iyabo Ojo of Defamation, Demands N500m in Redress
In a recent development, Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley and the head of Marlian Music, has accused actress Iyabo Ojo of spreading false and defamatory statements about him on social media. The accusations stem from a September 2023 Instagram post by the actress.
Naira Marley’s lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, addressed the allegations in a letter sent to Iyabo Ojo, highlighting claims made in her social media post. According to the lawyer, the actress accused Naira Marley of engaging in both spiritual and physical dealings with the late singer Mohbad. Additionally, she alleged that the Marlian Music boss caused mental harm to Mohbad.
Seeking redress for these accusations, Naira Marley’s attorney has demanded the sum of N500 million from Iyabo Ojo. The legal representation also insisted on a public apology to be posted on the actress’s social media page and published in a national daily.
The letter specifies that failure to comply with these conditions would prompt Naira Marley and his legal team to file a lawsuit against Iyabo Ojo. The unfolding situation adds a legal dimension to the ongoing dispute between the two personalities in the public eye.
