Mr Macaroni Opens Up About Lost Love and Why They Can’t Be Together
Nigerian actor and content creator Adebowale Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has shared a personal and emotional insight into his love life, revealing that he is unable to be with the woman he loves due to unresolved circumstances.
Speaking on the Dating in Lagos show hosted by Ariyiike Dimples, the popular skit maker described his current relationship status as “single and not searching,” adding that while he has experienced deep love in the past, circumstances have kept him apart from the woman he still holds dear.
“There’s someone I truly loved and still love,” he said. “But there are a lot of circumstances and differences that just won’t allow us to be together. I won’t go into the details.”
Reflecting on his experiences, Mr Macaroni noted that his most meaningful relationship took place while he was still a university student, and not during his time living in Lagos. He described dating in the city as chaotic and difficult to define, saying, “If it’s based on what I’ve seen and heard, dating in Lagos is anarchy.”
While he no longer considers himself an active participant in the dating scene, the comedian shared his perspective on what real love entails. “Love is not just about shopping, spending money, or taking pictures. It’s about commitment,” he said. “When you love someone, you’re willing to give your all – even when things aren’t perfect.”
He emphasized that perseverance in a relationship doesn’t mean enduring suffering, but rather recognising that love is not always easy or glamorous. “You don’t need to suffer to be in love. But it’s also not always rosy,” he explained. “When you truly love someone, you’re ready to stand by them – 100 percent.”
