Mr Real Accuses D’banj of Unfulfilled Promises and Withholding Revenue
In a recent revelation, Nigerian singer Mr Real, born Okafor Uchenna Victor, has taken to his Instagram page to accuse fellow artist D’banj, real name Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, of not fulfilling promises and withholding revenue.
The artists had collaborated on the 2018 hit song “Issa Banger” alongside Slimcase. However, Mr Real claims that despite the song’s success, he has not received his share of the revenue generated from it.
In his Instagram post dated Friday, December 8, 2023, Mr Real expressed his frustration, accusing D’banj of using him as a brand ambassador for his CREAM platform without adequate compensation. He also alleged that D’banj promised him an SUV as part of the brand ambassador deal but has yet to fulfil the promise.
The post read: “It has been years of you ripping me @iambangalee. @iambangalee I was used as a brand ambassador to launch your @creamplatform company, tour around and promote the brand for zero naira. @iambangalee the SUV u promised me as the Brand Ambassador of @creamplatform in Conjunction with @Myaccessbank. Till today Tyre I no see. u promised so many things with zero fulfilment. @mtnng @iambangalee I haven’t received my 30% from the revenue off Issabanger of the CRBT product (Caller Ring Back Tone). Let’s stop here for now.” (sic).
In a subsequent post on Saturday, December 9, 2023, Mr Real shared a video of himself and D’banj dancing at an event. He recounted how the alleged debt owed by D’banj has affected his relationships, causing some friends to believe he was stingy.
The accusations have sparked discussions among fans and industry observers, with many eager to see how the situation will unfold.
