My Last Relationship Was at University – Falz

Nigerian rapper and singer Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has opened up about his single status at 33 and the reasons behind it. In a recent interview with Naija 102.7 FM in Lagos, Falz revealed that he is cautious about marriage to avoid making a wrong decision.

Falz shared that his parents, particularly his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, have been pressuring him to settle down. “My dad expresses concern over my marital status daily,” Falz said. “If I greet my dad good morning, he would say the morning will be good if you were married.”

Despite the pressure, Falz remains firm in his decision not to rush into marriage. He emphasized that his father’s persistent concern won’t force him into making a hasty decision. “No one can pressure me into getting married, not even my dad,” he laughed.

The artist also mentioned that the last time he was in a serious relationship was during his university days. He attributed his prolonged single status to the challenges of his celebrity lifestyle, which makes finding a committed partner difficult.

“Currently, I’m not dating anyone. I like women, but for a while now, I haven’t experienced a serious relationship. My lifestyle as a celebrity makes it hard to find someone to commit to. Also, the industry’s demands make balancing a booming career and a healthy relationship challenging. So, I’m just being careful,” Falz explained.
