North West Expresses Ambition to Lead Yeezy and Skims in Her First Solo Interview
At just 10 years old, North West, the oldest child of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, has expressed her aspirations to step into the business world like her parents. In her exclusive solo cover feature with i-D magazine, North shared her dreams of owning Yeezy and Skims, her family’s fashion companies, in the future.
“One day I want to own Yeezy and Skims, and I want to be a business owner,” North revealed in the interview.
As a part of her journey toward independence, North disclosed her plans to earn money for her art tools. “When I’m, like, thirteen, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies because everything around here is so expensive,” she explained.
During the interview, North, who did her own hair for the photoshoot, confidently shared her fashion sense, emphasizing herself as her biggest style icon. “I love doing hair, and I got to do my own edges for this shoot,” she said.
Beyond her entrepreneurial dreams and flair for fashion, North West has taken a step towards raising awareness about dyslexia, revealing her learning syndrome during a TikTok Live session alongside her mother, Kim Kardashian. While discussing her dyslexia, North admitted to the audience: “Guys, I have dyslexia. Do you even know what that is?”
Kim intervened at that point, humorously referring to North’s candidness as “spilling the tea.”
North’s disclosure about her dyslexia came without further details, as Kim emphasized her “purposely” not discussing her daughter’s personal life, respecting her privacy.
In another segment, Kim opened up about her initial apprehensions regarding hiring a male nanny to help raise her children. Speaking on ‘The Kardashians’, she admitted feeling anxious about telling Kanye West, but was amazed at his receptiveness toward the male nanny. Kanye introduced himself and interacted with the nanny, giving advice on parenting techniques, such as encouraging self-reliance in their kids.
Kim revealed her relief and surprise at Kanye’s favourable response, highlighting the positive interaction between Kanye, the manny, and their children. The decision to hire a male nanny was driven by Kim’s wish to balance her home, which she described as “female-dominated,” with the inclusion of a male figure involved in the children’s activities.
