Phyno Dismisses Claims of Selling ₦10bn Lagos Estate Over Tribal Bias

Nigerian rapper Phyno has strongly denied viral claims suggesting he sold a ₦10 billion estate in Lagos due to alleged anti-Igbo sentiment, calling the reports completely false and inflammatory.

The rumour, which began circulating on social media, stemmed from a deleted post by an X user known as @JustSociety4All. The post claimed Phyno had grown disillusioned with investing in Lagos following the 2023 elections, and had decided to move his assets to Enugu for greater “safety and acceptance.”

But the rapper, whose real name is Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, wasted no time in shutting down the speculation. In a post shared via his official X handle, he wrote, “You are a fool for cooking up this type of lie!!! Where are you heading with this? Anwu nta.”

Widely known for his cross-regional appeal and contributions to Nigerian music, Phyno has consistently maintained business interests in multiple parts of the country, including Lagos and the Southeast. He also remains an advocate for national unity and has frequently used his platform to promote inclusivity.

The rumour, which attempted to stir ethnic tensions, has drawn criticism from fans and fellow artists, many of whom commended Phyno for promptly addressing the narrative.
