Portable and Terry G

Portable Challenges Terry G to Celebrity Boxing Match, Says Fight Would Revive Singer’s Career

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has challenged fellow artiste Terry G to a celebrity boxing match, saying the bout would help revive the veteran musician’s career.

Portable made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, where he was asked which celebrity he would like to face in the ring.

Without hesitation, the singer named Terry G as his preferred opponent.

When the interviewer suggested social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) instead, Portable maintained that Terry G remained his choice.

According to him, a boxing contest between the two musicians would generate renewed public interest in Terry G.

“I want to fight Terry G,” Portable said. “If Terry G fights me one-on-one in boxing, I swear he will rise again. People will remember him again.”

The comments have generated reactions on social media, with many fans expressing surprise at the challenge and speculating about whether Terry G will respond.

Portable is no stranger to celebrity boxing. Over the past two years, he has participated in high-profile exhibition bouts against actor Charles Okocha, singer Speed Darlington and comedian Carter Efe.

Terry G, whose real name is Gabriel Oche Amanyi, became one of Nigeria’s most recognisable street music stars in the late 2000s and early 2010s with hit songs including Free Madness, Akpako and Run Mad.

As of the time of filing this report, Terry G had not publicly responded to Portable’s challenge.
