Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has spoken out following a violent attack at an event in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos State, where he and his crew were assaulted by area boys on Sunday.
In a video that quickly went viral, Portable, who appeared visibly shaken and injured, detailed the harrowing incident. The singer explained that he had attended the event to celebrate with a friend, a car vendor, but the festivities took a dangerous turn when some individuals took offense to his actions.
Portable, who managed to escape the scene with injuries, expressed deep concern for his crew members, several of whom went missing during the chaos. He took to Instagram to plead with the event’s host to help retrieve his stolen belongings, which included expensive jewelry, an ATM card, and two iPhones belonging to one of his managers.
“Wahala big palaba around Iju-Ishaga,” Portable wrote in pidgin on his Instagram page. He recounted how the local area boys attacked his team after he narrowly escaped. “ZEHNATION boys are still missing oo,” he added, referring to his crew.
The singer also mentioned that while they had recovered some items, including phones and a car belonging to a crew member, other team members were still unaccounted for. “I haven’t seen @bamidola_ we hear say them attack him. Those are my artistes that are missing oo. God no go shame us,” he lamented.
The incident occurred just days after Portable celebrated the birth of his child with Babyluv, adding to the emotional weight of the attack. The singer expressed his frustration and disappointment, stating, “Those Egbon adugbo collected my ice chain and my gold earring after I showed them love and gave them all my money. They still wanted to collect my bag. Are they fans or enemies?”
