Rema Addresses Rumours of Devil Worship: “It’s Crazy”
Nigerian music sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has debunked a wild rumor circulating online that accuses him of being a devil worshiper. The “Calm Down” hitmaker made the revelation during an appearance on the Kids Take Over podcast, where he discussed the most outrageous claim he has encountered about himself.
In response to the podcast host’s question about the craziest rumor he’s seen online, Rema laughed and said, “They say I worship the devil. It’s crazy.” He further explained why he chose not to address the claim, stating, “I didn’t respond to it because it’s not important. It’s a waste of time.”
Rema clarified that the symbols he incorporates into his art are rooted in his Edo culture and not linked to any satanic practices, as some have speculated.
During the interview, the Nigerian star also reflected on his collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake in 2020 for the song “Mention Me,” which was leaked. “I’m happy to work with a legend like Drake,” Rema said. “I feel like we are going to make a very huge song if we take our time to build something very strong.”
Rema, known for his unique style and chart-topping hits, continues to rise in global popularity, despite the rumors swirling around him.
