This achievement makes it the first Nigerian song to reach this milestone and the fastest African song to hit a billion views on the platform.
The original version of “Calm Down” has also garnered over 619 million views on YouTube, while the remix version continues to make waves internationally.
Additionally, in August last year, “Calm Down Remix” made history as the first African song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify. It currently boasts over 1.5 billion Spotify streams, further establishing Rema’s influence in the global music industry.
