Rick Ross Faces Lawsuit Over Lack of Wheelchair Access at Car & Bike Show
Rapper and record executive Rick Ross is facing legal action for allegedly failing to make his popular Car & Bike Show wheelchair accessible for disabled attendees. The lawsuit, filed by Darris Straughter, claims that Ross did not provide the necessary accommodations for disabled individuals at the event held at his expansive 235-acre estate, known as ‘The Promised Land,’ in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Straughter, who has been disabled since a spinal cord injury in 2018, alleges that despite purchasing a ticket and arranging travel and lodging, he was unable to attend the event due to the lack of accessibility. According to the lawsuit, Straughter had contacted the event organizers two weeks prior to the show to inform them of his needs, but his requests were not addressed.
The plaintiff also asserts that the organizers had promised refunds to those who could not attend, but he has yet to receive any compensation. Represented by attorney John Hoover Esq., Straughter is suing Ross for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
The lawsuit seeks damages and a court order requiring future events hosted by Ross to include proper access for disabled individuals.
