Ruger Declares He Won’t Tone Down ‘Toxic’ Lyrics
Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has made it clear that he has no plans to alter his signature music style or lyrics anytime soon.
Embracing His ‘Heartbreak Master’ Persona
During a recent Instagram Live session with fans, the artist, widely recognized for his heartbreak-themed songs, reaffirmed his commitment to singing about toxic relationships. He also dubbed himself the “heartbreak master.”
“I’m not undergoing any rebranding anytime soon. I am the heartbreak master, the toxic relationship master, the scattered relationship master. So, you can’t change who I am,” Ruger stated.
‘I Love Women’ – Ruger Clarifies
Despite his lyrics often portraying turbulent relationships, the singer emphasized his deep admiration for women. He dismissed criticisms of his music being toxic, insisting that his songs do not reflect his real-life approach to relationships.
“Women know that I love them. I love women with my whole heart. I’m very nice and sweet to women. Every woman I have been with knows that I am nice and sweet to them,” he added.
Ruger’s music has often sparked debates among fans, with many either resonating with his raw storytelling or calling for a shift in themes. However, his latest remarks confirm that he is sticking to the style that has brought him success.
