Ruger Throws Shade at Former Label Jonzing World
Nigerian singer Ruger, who recently parted ways with his former record label Jonzing World, has publicly responded to a fan’s comment regarding his post-label success.
A fan with the handle efekoga recently tweeted, “No hit since you left Jonzing,” suggesting that Ruger, whose real name is Michael Olayinka Adebayo, had not released any successful songs since leaving the label.
Ruger swiftly clapped back, tweeting, “no hit for Jonzing since I left Jonzing,” implying that the label had not achieved any success since his departure. This latest exchange adds to the ongoing public feud between Ruger and Jonzing World, where he has previously accused the label of exploiting him and misusing his funds to promote new artists.
Ruger’s departure from Jonzing World, headed by D’Prince, was officially announced on February 6, 2024. Since then, the relationship between the singer and his former label has been strained, with Ruger openly expressing dissatisfaction with his contract and treatment during his tenure at the label.
