American actress, Neve Campbell, known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the popular Scream sequel has pulled out of the latest Scream 6 movie on the heels of a pay dispute with the producers of the horrow movie.
According to Campbell, what she was offered for Scream 6 did not match the value that she has brought to the sequel.
“The offer I was presented with did not match the value I have brought to the franchise. Unfortunately, I will not be doing the next ‘Scream’ movie. As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to ‘Scream.’ I felt that the offer that was presented to me did not match the value that I have brought to the franchise.”
She, however added that turning down the offer was tougher than she had anticipated given that she she was turning down an offer to work on a story that she knows inside out.
“It was a very difficult decision. I love all my ‘Scream’ fans. They have always been incredibly supportive. I am eternally grateful for what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years,” Campbell said in a statement.
At the time of writing this, the companies behind “Scream,” Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media are yet to comment on the situation.
