Warner Bros Want Henry Cavill to Return as Superman
There have been reports that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav is pushing the studio to stage a return of Henry Cavill as a lead character with Superman as the focal point of all Superman-related projects.
According to TheWrap, Veteran studio chief Toby Emmerich was moved on last week, with Zaslav clearly pulling the strings moving forward. Zaslav has reportedly instructed his team to “kill all Superman projects in development and start over with Cavill.”
We gathered that Zaslav reportedly wants to get a Superman movie off the ground with Henry Cavill as the lead out of any plans to create a shared universe of DC characters beyond that.
Before now, Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters were writing a script for Michael B. Jordan’s “Val Zod” project for HBO Max while Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing a script for J.J. Abrams-produced Superman movie that was supposed to be about a black Kal-El/Clark Kent.
It , however, remains to be seen if these two Superman-related projects will still get off the ground in terms of production.
