Skales Expresses Gratitude to Banky W for Sponsoring His Education

Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has expressed appreciation to his former record label boss, Bankole Wellington (Banky W), for funding his university education.

The Shake Body crooner took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday to acknowledge Banky W’s support after finally receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration certificate.

A Long-Awaited Achievement
Sharing an image of the certificate, Skales revealed that although he graduated years ago, he only just received the document. He dedicated the achievement to his late mother.

“Aye! My BSc showed up after many years of graduation! This is for my mother, and thank you to @BankyW for sponsoring the boy through school,” he wrote.

His Journey with E.M.E Records
Skales was signed to Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E), the record label founded by Banky W, in 2009. After spending five years under the label, he parted ways with the team in 2014 when his contract expired.

Reports suggest that Banky W also enrolled Skales and fellow label mate Wizkid at Lead City University, although Wizkid eventually dropped out to pursue his music career full-time.

Skales’ acknowledgment highlights the lasting impact of Banky W’s mentorship and support, which played a role in shaping the singer’s journey both in music and academics.
