Snoop Dogg Embraces ‘Natural High’ Post Smoking Era

In a surprising turn of events, Snoop Dogg, the West Coast rap legend known for his enduring love affair with marijuana, recently shocked fans with the revelation that he has decided to quit smoking. The unexpected announcement was made via an Instagram post on Saturday (November 18) where the iconic artist shared a contemplative selfie accompanied by the caption, “Natural high,” along with a clock and music emoji.

Snoop Dogg’s association with smoking marijuana spans his illustrious 30-year career, making this sudden departure from his trademark lifestyle undoubtedly a shock to both fans and the artist himself. Fellow musicians have shown support for his decision, with Mike WiLL Made-It expressing solidarity by commenting, “I feel ur pain unk we on the same journey!” Even West Coast icon DJ Quik chimed in, offering positive words: “When You got that Glow… you feel the warmth from the Power of Elevation!,” referencing Willie Hutch’s 1985 song “The Glow.”

The revelation came just a week after Snoop Dogg formally declared his intention to give up smoking, stating on Instagram, “After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.” Earlier this year, the artist had hinted at a reduction in his smoking habits due to health concerns after becoming a grandfather.

“Being a grandfather has changed me in multiple ways,” Snoop Dogg told The Daily Mail in March. “The main way is being concerned with how I live, how I move, the kind of people I’m associated with, because I want to see my grandkids grow old.”

Snoop Dogg’s decision seems to be influencing other high-profile figures in the rap industry. Shortly after his announcement, Meek Mill took to social media to express his intention to follow Snoop’s lead. “Ima go to Dubai and completely stop smoking,” Meek wrote. “ima follow snoop, my doctor said I got a lil bit emphysema in a chest if I don’t stop smoking it cuts my lifeline in half. I was addicted to the nicotine and this new weed got too many chemicals and too risky to play with my mental!”
