Suge Knight Challenges Master P’s Claims Regarding $2 Million Snoop Dogg Prison Deal

Suge Knight, currently incarcerated, has unveiled a sneak peek of his upcoming podcast, “Collect Call With Suge Knight,” where he refutes Master P’s statements about approaching Knight in prison to negotiate Snoop Dogg’s contract with No Limit Records.

In the teaser, Knight contradicts Master P’s assertions of personally visiting him behind bars and offering a $2 million deal to acquire Snoop’s rights, calling it false.

“Master P slipped up and said he came to visit me in prison,” Knight stated in the podcast clip. “And gave me a couple of bucks — $2 million I never would have took no shit like that for Snoop. I got a whole list if anybody ever visits me. You got to be approved. That n-gga is not on none of it.”

Knight contends that the signed paperwork tells the actual story. He asserts making a deal with Bryan Turner at Priority Records, where Snoop’s services were lent to Priority, permitting him to work with No Limit Records.

After a significant phase with Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg transitioned to Master P’s No Limit Records in March 1998. Snoop attributed his move to No Limit as a pivotal point that “saved his life,” something he revealed during a visit to The Breakfast Club in 2020.

Snoop explained, “Master P saved my life. I was gonna put an album out called Fuck Death Row and Mack 10 was gonna give me a million dollars to put it out. I would go up there [to the office] to see Mack 10 and when I would go up there, I would have to pass by Master P’s No Limit shit. I passed by one day and Mystikal was in there.”

The rapper detailed his interactions with Master P, mentioning an instance when he initially asked for $1,500 for his work, and Master P handed him a check of $35,000 the next day. Snoop shelved his proposed album called “Fuck Death Row” at the advice of Master P, who warned that he wouldn’t live to see its release.

Furthermore, in separate interviews, both Master P and Snoop discussed their collaboration, with Master P emphasizing his role in changing Snoop’s career trajectory and rescue from a difficult situation. Snoop’s tenure at No Limit Records ended in 2006 when he moved to Geffen Records.
