Taylor Swift Reveals Four New Songs to Celebrate The Eras Tour

In honor of The Eras Tour which began on Friday, March 17, Taylor Swift has announced the release of four new songs as reported on Glitter Magazine.

Recently, the singer/songwriter took to Instagram and posted a story announcing the exciting news. In the story, Swift stated, “In celebration of The Eras Tour I’m releasing four previously unreleased songs tonight at midnight.” Swift then listed the new songs: “Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version),” “Safe & Sound (featuring Joy Williams and John Paul White) (Taylor’s Version),” “If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version),” and “All Of The Girls You Loved Before.”

Of the four songs, three are re-recordings of previously released works. “Eyes Open” and “Safe & Sound” (the latter featured the former duo, The National, who have since separated into solo artists: Joy Williams and John Paul White) were both released in 2012 for The Hunger Games (2012) film soundtrack album: The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond (2012). “If This Was A Movie” was a deluxe track on Swift’s third album, Speak Now (2010). Meanwhile, “All Of The Girls You Loved Before” is a brand-new song that got leaked and received massive popularity on social media, particularly TikTok.

The re-recordings are in line with the performer’s mission to re-record her previous six albums. In November 2020, Swift announced her plan to do so following several disputes with her prior record label to own the master recordings of those albums. After the master recordings were sold to a third party without her knowledge for the second time, Swift took to Twitter to make her statement. Swift wrote, “I have recently begun to re-record my older music and it has already proven to be both exciting and completely fulfilling.”

Since the announcement, two of the six albums have been re-recorded: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021) and Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021). Both albums received rave reviews. Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (2021) broke a string of musical records. Red (Taylor’s Version) (2021) earned Swift a Best Music Video Grammy for her “All Too Well” short film.

As if there was not already a lot of anticipation for The Eras Tour with that announcement, the “Anti-Hero” singer did not stop there. Later in the day, she took to Twitter and shared several photos of herself rehearsing for the tour. The caption read, “In my Eras era.”

While The Eras Tour has not even taken off yet, we are sure that it will be one of Swift’s best tours yet- if not her very best. For more exciting Swift-centric news, click here. While fans wait to hear the new songs, they can watch her latest music for “Lavender Haze” below.
