Burna Boy and Tems

Tems, Burna Boy Set Billboard Hot 100 Record

Nigerian stars Tems and Burna Boy have become the African artistes with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100, breaking a long-standing tie with South African rock band Seether.

The milestone was achieved this week after both artists earned fresh chart appearances through collaborations on J. Cole’s new album The Fall-Off. Tems appears on Bounce Road Blues alongside Future, which debuted at number 34, while Burna Boy features on Only You, entering the chart at number 78.

The new entries bring both Nigerian artists to a joint total of eight Billboard Hot 100 appearances, the highest ever recorded by any African act.

Tems has also extended her lead as the African artist with the most Hot 100 entries this year, having previously charted with Raindance alongside Dave, as well as What You Need. She has now logged three entries on the chart in 2026.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy set another landmark by becoming the first African artist to place a song on the Hot 100 for six consecutive years. His charting run includes Loved By You (2021), Last Last (2022), Sittin’ On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025), and now Only You in 2026.

The latest chart achievements further underline the growing global presence of African artists on mainstream US music charts.
