Tems Extends Her Record as the Most Certified Nigerian Female Artist in the US
Grammy award-winning singer Tems has added to her impressive list of achievements by extending her record as the most certified Nigerian female artist in the United States. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has recently confirmed two new certifications for the artist, bringing her total certifications in the US to four, a record for any female artist from Nigeria.
One of the newly certified songs is “Higher,” taken from Tems’ Leading Vibe EP, which has achieved gold certification by selling over 500,000 units in the US. Additionally, her viral hit “Free Mind” has been certified Platinum in the United States, signifying over 1,000,000 units sold.
Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “Thank you Lord Free Mind Platinum, Higher Gold. Cheers to more la Familia @temsbaby @ShowDemCamp #TheLeadingVibe.”
