The Weeknd Sets New Billboard Hot 100 Record with 99th Charting Song

The Weeknd continues to make waves in the music industry, breaking records and setting new milestones. His recent guest appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “WE DON’T TRUST YOU” secured the No. 9 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, marking his 99th song to make it onto the prestigious chart.

Chart Data reported that The Weeknd has now earned a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 each year since 2014, boasting the longest active streak for any artist with 11 consecutive calendar years.

Last year, The Weeknd made headlines during his After Hours ‘Till Dawn Tour when he performed at London’s Wembley Stadium. Live Nation UK revealed that the Grammy Award-winning artist broke Wembley Stadium’s sales record with 87,000 tickets sold, surpassing previous records for traditional concert setups.

The Weeknd, also known for hits like “Blinding Lights,” reposted the news of his achievement on his Instagram Stories, celebrating the milestone alongside XO co-founder Cash.

Prior to this, the Canadian superstar set attendance records during a two-night stint at London Stadium, drawing in a crowd of 160,000 fans. During the show, he engaged the audience in a sing-along to his track “Call Out My Name” from the album “My Dear Melancholy.”

Live Nation’s touring president Omar Al-joulani commented on the historic moment, highlighting The Weeknd’s global fanbase and the success of his European tour.

Darryl Eaton, CAA’s co-head of North American touring, praised The Weeknd’s tour success, noting the massive ticket sales across Europe and the forthcoming shows in South America and Mexico. The North American leg of the stadium tour in 2022 alone generated over $148 million, contributing to the global tour’s impact of around $350 million.
