TikToker Peller Threatens Legal Action Against Pastor Over JAMB Failure Accusation

Nigerian TikTok personality Peller has threatened to take legal action against Pastor Kesiena Esiri of Remnant Christian Network, following claims that his online content is responsible for the mass failure in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a viral video circulating online, Pastor Esiri accused Peller and his partner, Jarvis, of promoting immoral behaviour and distracting teenagers from their academics. The cleric said the duo’s influence on social media has normalised inappropriate conduct among youths, contributing to the poor performance of students in the recent JAMB examinations.

“It’s what we are pioneering in public now like a normal lifestyle. Do you know who’s mentoring the youth now? A guy called Peller,” Esiri said during a sermon. “Young people watch him all day, going about with a girl he isn’t married to, engaging in all sorts of things. And to teenagers, it now seems normal. Can they pass JAMB like that? They can’t.”

Reacting via a TikTok live session, Peller dismissed the claims as baseless and warned the pastor against using his name in sermons. The 20-year-old content creator stated that no one is forced to watch his videos and accused Pastor Esiri of using his name to boost church offerings and gain popularity among Gen Z followers.

“We will sue you for using our names to collect offerings in church,” Peller said. “Nobody is forcing anyone to watch Jarvis and Peller. If anything, the pastor is a fan too.”

Peller maintained that his content is not to blame for academic struggles, insisting that the responsibility lies with the individual.
