Timini Egbuson Calls for Greater Support from Musicians for Nollywood
Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has expressed concern over what he perceives as a lack of support from musicians towards the Nigerian film industry.
Taking to his X handle on Sunday, the actor suggested that while Nollywood has consistently supported the music industry, the same level of backing is not always reciprocated.
“I really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music, but that’s a conversation for another day,” he wrote.
Nigeria’s film and music industries have long been intertwined, with musicians making appearances in Nollywood films and actors crossing over into music. Some actresses have also featured in music videos as vixens, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between both industries.
Egbuson’s statement has sparked discussions about the need for stronger ties between the two entertainment sectors, with many agreeing that greater synergy could further elevate both industries on the global stage.
