Top Gun: Maverick Gets The Perfect Streaming Release Date
Paramount finally reveals Top Gun: Maverick’s streaming release date. Tom Cruise returned to his iconic pilot role from 1986 earlier this year for the long-awaited sequel.
As reported by Screenrant, Top Gun: Maverick surpassed all expectations in terms of its reception, both critically and financially. The sequel is one of the best-reviewed blockbusters of the year, while Top Gun 2’s box office had incredible legs all summer long.
This allowed the movie to become the highest-grossing film of 2022 domestically and worldwide, and it became Tom Cruise’s biggest movie ever after making $1.4 billion. So far, the movie has only been available in theaters and on home video.
Nearly six months after the movie’s theatrical release, Top Gun: Maverick’s streaming release date has finally been confirmed. Paramount announced today that Top Gun 2 begins streaming on Paramount+ on December 22, 2022.
The release comes right before Christmas and nearly seven months after the movie first hit theaters. Paramount previously considered releasing Top Gun: Maverick straight to streaming during COVID, but Tom Cruise continually championed the film’s potential to connect with audiences in cinemas.
