Tyla Names Tems, Britney Spears, and Whitney Houston as Musical Inspirations
South African singer Tyla has revealed that Nigerian R&B star Tems is one of her biggest musical influences.
Speaking in a recent interview with Billboard, the Grammy-winning ‘Water’ hitmaker praised Tems for her achievements, describing them as an inspiration to her career.
“Tems is a big one. What she’s been able to do has been very inspiring,” Tyla said.
She also listed Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, and Aaliyah as other artists who have shaped her sound and artistic journey.
During the interview, Tyla hinted that her second album is set to drop this year, promising a completely different sound from her self-titled debut project.
