Vector Accuses Atalanta Boss Gasperini of Racial Bias Over Lookman Criticism

Nigerian rapper Vector Tha Viper has called out Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini for what he described as “harsh” and racially motivated criticism of winger Ademola Lookman.

Lookman was at the centre of controversy after missing a penalty in Atalanta’s 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. The Nigerian forward had earlier pulled a goal back for his side after coming off the bench but failed to convert a penalty that could have brought them closer to a comeback.

In his post-match remarks, Gasperini did not hold back, branding Lookman “the worst penalty taker he has ever seen.” He further alleged that the winger took the spot-kick against team instructions, despite not being the designated penalty taker.

Vector took to social media to express his displeasure, drawing parallels between Lookman’s situation and Victor Osimhen’s previous clash with Napoli over penalty-taking duties.

“I thought I was a victor till Napoli started laughing. Make Lookman look well… This skin issue sha,” the rapper wrote on X, implying racial bias in Gasperini’s remarks.

However, Lookman has since clarified that he did not go against team instructions. According to him, the actual penalty taker had asked him to take the shot, contradicting Gasperini’s claims.
