What Happened Between Elsa Majimbo and Naomi Campbell?
Elsa Majimbo, the South Africa-based Kenyan chess champion and comedian, took to TikTok on February 15, 2024, to address questions from fans regarding her relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell, revealing details about their past interactions and the current status of their connection.
In the TikTok video, Majimbo recounted her initial encounter with Campbell in December 2020, when she reached out to the British supermodel via Instagram during Campbell’s visit to Nairobi. Campbell extended an invitation for Majimbo to join her at an exclusive resort in Malindi, Kenya, owned by her then-boyfriend, Flavio Briatore.
Their time together was captured in episodes of Campbell’s vlog, “Being Naomi,” where they engaged in activities like shopping, trying on makeup, and decorating a Christmas tree. Majimbo also appeared on Campbell’s talk show, “No Filter With Naomi,” to discuss her viral success on TikTok.
However, their relationship took a turn in March 2022 when Campbell questioned Majimbo about her short film, “Elsa,” mistaking it for a documentary idea they had discussed. Despite attempts to clarify the situation, Campbell expressed disappointment, leading to strained communication between them.
Majimbo revealed that the fallout affected her personally and professionally, prompting her to reach out to Campbell multiple times without success. Although Campbell eventually wished her a happy new year in January 2023, their relationship remained distant.
Addressing the viral TikTok video in a subsequent tweet, Majimbo explained the situation further and acknowledged the impact it had on her mental health, stating that it contributed to her struggle with alcoholism.
As of the time of publishing, Naomi Campbell has not publicly commented on the matter.
