Why I Chose Music Over Dance – Asake

Nigerian music sensation Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, recently shed light on the driving force behind his decision to pursue a career in music instead of dancing. In a candid interview, Asake clarified that his choice was primarily motivated by his financial aspirations.

During the interview, Asake explained that while he has a deep passion for dance, he harboured uncertainties about whether it could provide the level of financial success he desired. He emphasized his strong desire to achieve financial prosperity and acknowledged that music appeared to offer greater potential in this regard.

“The reason I left dance is for my love for money. I want to be very honest,” Asake stated. “Dance is something that I love. But I’m not sure dance can give me the kind of money I want.”

Furthermore, Asake elaborated on the practical aspects of the entertainment industry, noting that even dance performances often require financial investments and collaborations with dancers. Given his pursuit of financial success, he made the strategic decision to focus on singing.

However, when questioned about whether he would consider returning to dance if it offered significant success, Asake maintained his commitment to music. He expressed his intention to combine both music and dance to maximize his earnings and achieve his financial goals.

Asake’s candid remarks provide insight into the multifaceted nature of the entertainment industry, where artists make strategic choices to align their careers with their aspirations. While he may have shifted his primary focus to music, his passion for dance remains evident, and he is poised to excel in both realms, driven by his determination to attain financial prosperity.
