The artist recounted that during his involvement in a cultural group, he was affectionately referred to as “omo Asake,” translating to “child of Asake” in the Yoruba language.
Over time, the name naturally transitioned from “omo Asake” to simply “Asake,” as it resonated with those around him. Embracing this newfound identity, Asake decided to officially adopt it as his stage name.
