‘Why I’m Yet to Mmarry Jhené Aiko After 8 Years of Dating’ – Rapper, Big Sean
American rapper Big Sean has opened up about why he has not yet married singer Jhené Aiko despite being in a relationship for eight years.
In an appearance on the “Out of Context” podcast last Friday, Sean discussed his relationship with Aiko during an interview with host Charlamagne tha God. He attributed the delay to the ongoing work needed in their relationship.
“It’s a little personal, you know what I mean? But just like to be real with you, just like any person who has dealt with love, we’ve had our ups and downs,” Sean said. “And I think it’s still finding the right navigation through it all. To me, marriage symbolizes, like, the best relationship. I would like to, and I don’t like putting our personal business out there like that either, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.”
Sean and Aiko began dating in 2016. At that time, Aiko was still married to producer Dot da Genius, from whom she filed for divorce in August 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple welcomed their son, Noah, in November 2022. Aiko also has a 15-year-old daughter, Namiko, from a previous relationship with singer O’Ryan.
Big Sean was previously engaged to actress Naya Rivera in October 2013, but the engagement was called off six months later. Rivera tragically passed away in 2020.
As Big Sean and Jhené Aiko continue their journey together, fans remain hopeful for a future marriage while respecting the couple’s need to address their personal growth and relationship dynamics.
