Popular video sharing and social media platform, Youtube has received knocks for failing to tackle a network of cyber-criminals streaming fake Elon Musk videos to scam unknowing viewers.
The criminals behind this are gradually hijacking YouTube accounts and using the videos to promote bogus cryptocurrency giveaways.
According to the BBC News platform, dozens of these streams are being watched by tens of thousands of people.
Elon Musk made it clear that YouTube was not tackling “scam ads”.
We gathered that the streams have been fooling thousands of people into sending cryptocurrency to criminals, thinking they will receive a prize from Mr Musk.
