Zenith Bank Denies Fake Investment Endorsement

Zenith Bank has warned the public to ignore videos circulating online that falsely link its Group Chairman, Jim Ovia, to an investment scheme known as Wealth Bridge.

In a statement posted on its official X account on Tuesday in Abuja, the bank said the videos were fraudulent and had no connection to the institution or its leadership.

According to Zenith Bank, the clips claim that Wealth Bridge has been approved or endorsed by the Central Bank of Nigeria and promise unusually high weekly returns. One video allegedly encourages viewers to invest N380,000 with the promise of earning up to N2m per week.

The bank said the content, which it traced to a Facebook account known as “Greece Island”, redirects users to a fake webpage made to resemble that of Arise News, complete with registration links for the scheme.

“These claims are entirely false and have no connection whatsoever to the Group Chairman, the bank or any of its affiliate companies,” Zenith Bank said, describing the materials as the work of impostors.

The lender urged members of the public to disregard all such communications and warned that anyone engaging with entities linked to the scheme does so at their own risk. It listed several names and platforms allegedly associated with the scam, including Wealth Bridge and other related online handles.

Zenith Bank said it remains committed to protecting customers and the public from fraudulent schemes and advised investors to verify opportunities through official channels before committing funds.
