50 Cent Explains Why He Doesn’t Attend Diddy’s Parties, Says: ‘It’s Uncomfortable’
Rapper and entrepreneur 50 Cent recently revealed his reluctance to attend the infamous parties hosted by Diddy, sparking renewed interest in their ongoing dynamic.
During an undated concert, 50 Cent candidly addressed the audience, sharing his aversion to “Puffy parties,” a reference to Diddy’s iconic gatherings.
“Nuh uh,” he remarked from the stage, drawing laughter from the crowd. “That n-gga hug you from the front and the back at the same time? Fck you talkin’ ’bout? I mean, if you’re into that, you’re into that. I’m fine with it. I’m just saying this ain’t my motherfckin’ kind of party. I’m uncomfortable. I think I belong in the girl’s bathroom.”
This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has taken aim at Diddy’s notorious parties. During the summer, Lil Baby attended a “White Party” hosted by billionaire Michael Rubin, where a photo of Rubin hugging the rapper from behind went viral. Social media users criticized the image with homophobic comments, including 50 Cent, who posted the picture and commented, “See this is why I don’t go to no party puffy and them at. [side eye emoji] da fuk is going on here [facepalm emoji, sulking emoji] get the fuk off my young [ninja emoji] WTF!”
Part of the reason for 50 Cent’s feelings toward Diddy may stem from the past, when Diddy passed on signing the “In Da Club” rapper to his label.
Tony Yayo, a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit group, disclosed this information in August 2021, recalling a meeting with Puff Daddy (Diddy) about a potential deal and Diddy’s decision not to sign him. Yayo believes this was one of the biggest mistakes the label ever made, and it continues to be a point of contention between the two hip-hop moguls.
“A lot of people don’t know this story,” he began. “50 went to Diddy for Bad Boy. A lot of people don’t know that. We had the meeting. And it was so crazy that Diddy didn’t sign him – I know that was one of the biggest mistakes of Bad Boy. And you know, the [Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff”] situation — a lot of people were scared of Preme — 50 wasn’t.
“I remember Diddy said this, he don’t even remember. He said, ‘The three things people hate about rappers.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, we can’t sign you, playboy. It’s too much. It’s too much drama with the Biggie stuff and all that.’”
