50 Cent Hints at Role in Upcoming Street Fighter Movie Reboot
Hip-hop mogul and actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has sparked speculation that he will star in the forthcoming Street Fighter film reboot, reportedly taking on the role of iconic character Balrog.
The buzz began after entertainment outlet Nexus Point News reported that 50 Cent was being considered for the part. The rapper fueled the rumours by sharing a screenshot of the article on Instagram, captioned: “No Days off, Let’s work all roads lead to Shreveport,” suggesting his involvement in the project may indeed be underway.
Although there has been no official confirmation from the studio, the reboot is reportedly assembling a star-studded cast, with names like Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, and WWE star Roman Reigns linked to the production.
If confirmed, the role would mark one of 50 Cent’s most prominent on-screen appearances in recent years. He last appeared in The Expendables 4 (2023) alongside Jason Statham and Sylvester Stallone, and starred in the thriller Boneyard with Mel Gibson. His filmography also includes memorable roles in Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Southpaw, and Escape Plan.
Beyond acting, 50 Cent has been expanding his footprint in television. He recently announced the UK launch of his TV channel, 50 Cent Action, which features curated programming drawn from Lionsgate’s extensive content library, including his acclaimed Power franchise.
Speaking to Deadline about the international expansion, he said: “Being able to launch out here [in the UK] is big because I have a huge audience here that hasn’t been able to participate with us. Now they get a chance to see it.”
While fans await official casting announcements, 50 Cent’s cryptic social media post has heightened anticipation for what could be a major new chapter in his acting career — and a high-octane reboot of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises.
