Toyin Abraham Reflects on Past Marriage, Praises Current Union with Kolawole Ajeyemi
Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has opened up about the circumstances surrounding her short-lived marriage to fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson, shedding light on the reasons behind their separation and the contrast with her current relationship.
In a candid conversation with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Abraham disclosed that her family had initially expressed concerns about her union with Johnson, even after seeking divine direction. Despite their reservations, she proceeded with the marriage, which eventually ended in divorce after roughly two years.
“My family had their doubts, but I didn’t listen,” she revealed, adding that hindsight has given her clarity on the importance of those early warnings.
Turning her attention to her current marriage with actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, Abraham spoke with affection and gratitude, describing their bond as one rooted in faith, mutual respect, and shared values. According to her, their relationship blossomed naturally, starting with friendship, spiritual alignment, and growing emotional connection.
“In real life, he’s very calm. He’s a prayer warrior,” she said. “We started getting close, then dating quietly. Eventually, I didn’t care what people thought anymore. I introduced him to my family, and he did the same. After a small introduction, I got pregnant, and we got married.”
She added that her Christian family prayed about the relationship and confirmed through their faith that he was her destined partner. The couple is now blessed with two children.
Reflecting on her marriage, the actress said, “I married one of the best. I won’t say the best because there are other marriages I admire, like my godmother’s, but my husband is definitely among the best.”
The interview has since sparked conversations on social media, with fans sharing mixed reactions:
