50 Cent Takes Action Following Lil Wayne’s Microphone Mishaps

Popular rapper 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, has weighed in on Lil Wayne’s recent microphone troubles and made a bold decision regarding audio technicians. The incident unfolded during DJ Khaled’s opening act performance, where Lil Wayne faced microphone issues at Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour stop in Los Angeles. 50 Cent shared this development on Saturday, September 2, via a post on his social media.

In the post, 50 Cent included a news clip from RadarOnline, highlighting the technical difficulties experienced by Lil Wayne during his performance. The footage captured the moment when Wayne’s microphone malfunctioned, adding to the list of issues he encountered during his recent appearances.

Additionally, 50 Cent shared another news clip from HipHopDX, shedding light on Lil Wayne’s early departure from his own Final Lap tour stop as a special guest, following a backstage altercation.

In his caption, 50 Cent expressed his exasperation, stating, “[Looking eyes emoji] Damn, only thing left is Taylor Swift show. I fired everyone involved in the audio department, if the mic don’t work, your ass don’t work here.”

Regarding Lil Wayne’s abrupt exit from 50 Cent’s Los Angeles shows, Page Six reported that Wayne was originally scheduled to join the G-Unit leader’s performance at Crypto.com on Wednesday, August 30. It is noteworthy that this was the same event where 50 Cent allegedly struck a Power 106 personality with a microphone, potentially leading to felony charges.

According to backstage sources, Lil Wayne’s departure resulted from an incident where a member of 50 Cent’s backstage crew reportedly pushed him as he prepared to take the stage. Whether the push was accidental or deliberate remains unclear, but what is certain is that Lil Wayne swiftly exited the backstage area and left the concert venue.

“He just stormed out,” revealed the backstage source. “He was in the building for about 20 minutes total.”

This is not the first time Lil Wayne has cancelled a live appearance at the last minute. Earlier in May, during the final date of his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour, he abruptly cancelled his concert mid-performance.

For his Los Angeles show at The Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown, which was also being livestreamed for a $15 fee, Lil Wayne was scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. PDT but didn’t take the stage until after 10 p.m. This delay disappointed many fans, leading to tweets expressing frustration.

Once he finally commenced his performance, Lil Wayne, donning a Kobe Bryant L.A. Lakers jersey, kicked off his set with “Mr. Carter” from his 2008 Grammy Award-winning album, Tha Carter III.

Throughout the show, Lil Wayne ran through an extensive catalogue of hits, including “Fireman,” “Hustler Musik,” “Drop the World,” “BM J.R.,” “Let the Built Build,” “I’m Single,” “Love Me,” “Lollipop,” and more. He even surprised the audience by bringing out 2 Chainz for a performance of “Duffle Bag Boy.”

During an intermission, Lil Wayne momentarily left the stage, allowing his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas to entertain the crowd. However, he later returned, seizing the microphone to inform his artists that it was time to conclude the show, as he believed they were not receiving enough support from the audience.

In light of these recent developments, it remains to be seen how Lil Wayne and 50 Cent’s live performances will evolve and whether these incidents will have lasting repercussions for their careers in the music industry.
